Once upon a time, the cultural region of Occitania stretched from northern Spain to the southern Italian Alps, passing by the south of France. Today, beyond their cultural distinctions, the inhabitants of the Occitan valley possess a zest for life and bestow a warm welcome upon their guests. Cross the border and discover Val Maira, one of many Occitan valleys in the Italian region of Piedmont. This valley offers hundreds of ski touring itineraries, and with both easy and more advanced runs, there is something for everyone. Other than the sheer pleasure of skiing for six days, we will immerse ourselves in the heart and culture of Italian gastronomy. Day 1: Arrival in Val Maira (2hrs, +600m -620m)
Meeting with the Guide at 8:00am at Oulx train station. Transfer to Val Maira. Arrive at the small village of Ponte Maira and settle in to charming alpine Locanda. Dinner and overnight stay in charming Locanda in Ponte Maira. (Meals: D)

Day 2: Mount Freide (5hrs 30min, +1320m -1320m)
First ski tour to discover the Alpi Cozie range. After a nice breakfast, we set off for Monte Freide (2950m) before heading down under the Torre Provenzale and reaching our cosy inn. Dinner and overnight stay in charming Locanda in Ponte Maira. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 3: The Enchiusa Pass (5hrs, +1200m – 1250m)
Breakfast and beginning of our day. From the hamlet of Sarretto (1550m), we head to the Enchiusa pass (2730m) before reaching the authentic hamlet of Viviere (1700m). This place is unique with its old stone houses, birches and flagstones. We stay the night in this gorgeous place. Dinner and overnight stay in Alpine Refuge in Viviere. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 4: Mount Piuta (5hrs, +1000m – 1300m)
After beginning the day with breakfast, we leave Viviere for Chialvetta, a lovely little village, before reaching the hamlet of Preit (1540m) via Monte Piutas (2413m). We then continue to our next inn, once again a gorgeous place providing us with a comfortable lodging and delicious food. Dinner and overnight stay in charming Locanda in Marmora. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 5: Punta Piovosa (5hrs, +1100m – 1400m)
After a nice breakfast, we will aim for Monte Festa (2150m) and Punta Piovosa (2600). The landscape here is stunning and we enjoy a nice descent through a birch forest before reaching our accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay in charming Locanda in Marmora. (Meals: B, L, D)

Day 6: Mount Giobert (4hrs 30min, +800m – 1400m)
Begin the day with breakfast and then head for Monte Giobert (2650m). An endless descent in gorgeous scenery is awaiting us. We will then commute to Oulx train station and end our trip together. (Meals: B, L)
