Dolomites and Venice

From the Siusi Alps to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo
The Siusi Alps is considered to be the largest high-altitude mountain pasture in Europe: its countryside surroundings characterised by lush fir and larch forests and scattered with alpine lakes and "masi", typical high mountain pastures. Protecting this fairytale landscape are some of the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites: Sasso Piatto, Sasso Lungo, Rosengarten and Antermoia. Thanks to the wonderful forest paths at high altitude, we can admire the mountain ranges of Marmolada and Puez Odle, passing the legendary Passo Sella. The meeting with the three peaks of Lavaredo, famous across the world and a symbol of the Dolomites and essential for sixth grade rock climbing, make our trip to the Dolomites an unforgettable one. From the rocky peaks to the canals and Piazza San Marco in Venice, discovering the legendary city that lives on water, also considered one of the best architectural jewels in the world.
Highlights:
- The Siusi Alps, the largest high-altitude pasture in Europe and the agricultural culture of the "maso"
- The spectacular shapes of the Dolomites, from Sasso Lungo to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.
- Venice, the architecural jewel that stands on water.

Arrival at Venice Airport and private transfer to the Siusi Alps. Check-in to a typical mountain refuge alto atesino at the foot of the mountains. Dinner and overnight in alpine refuge. Meals (D)

Day 2: Sasso Lungo and Sasso Piatto (6hrs walking, +600m -800m)

From the high rocks to the Rifugio Vicenza, positioned in the centre of an impressive canyon. Dinner and overnight in an alpine refuge. Meals (B, D)

Day 3: Lake Antermoia (6hrs 30min walking, +900m -820m)
L'anfiteatro where Lake Antermoia comes from is both spectacular and magical. The lake is a jewel, guarded by the high walls of rock. We reach it by crossing the Valle Duron, where pine trees are born and where it also possible to see some chamois and eagles. Dinner and overnight in alpine refuge. Meals (B, D)

Day 4: The Siusi Alps and Castelrotto (5hrs walking, +200m -1100m)
We reach the alpine village of Castelrotto, crossing the plateau of the Siusi Alps with a long and gradual descent. Between the pastures we come across the "masi", typical high mountain pastures, where it is possible to drink a glass of fresh milk and eat some fresh yoghurt. More than likely, we will see some deer amongst the dense forests of larch and spruce. Public bus from Castelrotto to the Siusi Alps. Dinner and overnight in alpine refuge. Meals (B, D)

Day 5: From the Siusi Alps to Cortina (2hrs 30min walking, -650m)

Day 6: Le Tofane and le Cinque Torri (5hrs walking, +500m – 900m)

Dinner and overnight in Hotel***. Meals (B, D)

Day 7: The Three Peaks of Lavaredo and Venice (4hrs walking, +500m – 500m)
